i am really stoked about my grades this semester. a really excellent surprise, and a great great start to the summer. it’s going to be a good one. chesapeake is boring, im excited to go back. this summer has so much potential.

I wish that I had pictures from the day of critique to show how the photos were presented, but unfortunately my camera died due to overkill the week before for the actual project. Our assignment was to include magic/optical illusions. I’m really pleased with how mine turned out.

The New York Times Sunday Magazine named Alix Lambert as one of “30 people under 30 who will change the culture in the next 30 years.” I don’t know how I feel about that, but if what they say about we are who we are from our experiences is true, then Lambert is one hell of a person. At the same time, I can see how someone would be a little turned off by her creating somewhat of a “faux” life. The idea that she has been married to 4 various types of people, divorced, trained to tattoo, journalist, most recently trained to become a pilot, and pretty much anything she decides she wants to be at the time. She can never seem to be in the same place for too long though, one can only wonder how long she will continue to jump from lifestyle to lifestyle until there is something she finds she cannot do, or rather doesn’t want to do? What happens when she continues to drop what shes doing and can’t find the next life to live? Or how many different lifestyles must she experience until she is content?

What do Hannibal Lecter, Dracula, and China Adams have in common? They would all be considered artists in our textbook. I’m sure they would have some great collaboratives. Although I wasn’t too thrilled with Adams and her documented blood-sucking and seed-shitting, I can understand the reasons behind her actions and respect that. Not only did China Adams notarize her confession of sins, but she also auctioned certain bones to be purchased after her death. But before this, she took stock of her life at the age of 25. A little early for someone to write off their possessions, as well as their body parts, if you ask me. China seems just a little too confident. My question is who the hell is buying the parts and what are they going to do with it?
